Scottsdale & Phoenix athlete development

    BUILD THE ATHLETE.
    RESPECT THE STAGE.

Lockett Performance provides purposeful performance training for athletes ages 9 through professional: strength, conditioning, speed, agility, power, functional movement, mobility, movement quality, recovery habits, and injury-risk reduction strategies—built around the individual and their sport.

    A progression, not a template

TRAINING THAT CHANGES AS ATHLETES CHANGE

    Ages 9–12 | Foundations

Coordination, landing and stopping positions, sprint basics, balance, body awareness, age-appropriate strength, and a positive training routine. The goal is a broad movement vocabulary—not adult-style specialization.

    Ages 13–15 | Development

Progressive strength, acceleration mechanics, deceleration, multi-directional movement, mobility habits, and introductory power work scaled to growth, sport schedule, and training experience.

Ages 16–18 | High School Performance & Recruiting

Sport-relevant speed, force production, power, conditioning, and combine-style testing. For athletes pursuing college opportunities, documented assessment data can complement film and recruiting preparation.

    College Athletes

A plan that fits lifting, practices, travel, and competitive calendar demands while building qualities relevant to the athlete’s position and return-to-training goals.

    Professional & Off-Season Athletes

Individualized off-season blocks that organize movement quality, strength, speed, power, conditioning, and recovery habits around the next competitive phase.

    SPORT DEMANDS, NOT GENERIC DRILLS

Shared athletic qualities matter across sports, but the expression, direction, volume, and timing of work should reflect how an athlete competes.

Football: Acceleration from varied starts, position-specific change of direction, contact-ready strength, repeat efforts, and 40-yard-dash preparation.

Track: Start and acceleration mechanics, upright sprint posture, force application, elastic qualities, and event-aware strength work.

Basketball: First-step acceleration, deceleration, lateral movement, jump and landing skill, and repeat high-intensity court efforts.

Soccer: Repeated acceleration, braking and cutting, multi-directional capacity, lower-body power, and conditioning that respects match demands.

Baseball & Softball: First-step and base-running speed, rotational sequencing, lower-body force, lateral range, and workload-aware movement preparation.

Volleyball: Approach mechanics, jumping and landing skill, lateral court movement, overhead-friendly strength, and repeat jump capacity.

    BEGIN WITH A BASELINE

An assessment helps identify current movement options and establish relevant measures before training begins. From there, we prioritize, coach, and retest—not guess.

    ATHLETE PERFORMANCE TRAINING FAQS

    What ages do you train?

Lockett Performance serves athletes ages 9 through professional competitors. Training emphasis and loading are adjusted for developmental stage, experience, sport, and current schedule.

Is this only for elite or recruited athletes?

No. The starting point is an assessment and a useful plan for the athlete in front of us. Some athletes are preparing for high-school or college opportunities; others are building durable movement and performance habits.

    Will training prevent injuries?

No training program can promise injury prevention. We coach movement quality, progressive loading, recovery habits, deceleration, and communication around workload to support lower injury-risk exposure. Pain, injury, and medical questions should be evaluated by an appropriate licensed clinician.

    How is progress measured?

We use an assessment baseline and periodic retesting appropriate to the athlete: movement observations, sprint or agility timing, jump or power measures, strength patterns, and training consistency. Numbers are interpreted in context rather than treated as a guarantee.

    Where do sessions happen?

Lockett Performance trains at D1 Training Scottsdale, 13402 N Scottsdale Rd, Ste B-150, Scottsdale, AZ 85254, serving Scottsdale, Phoenix, Paradise Valley, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, and the wider Valley.
